Two people were seriously injured in a crash that shut down a portion of Highway 407 early Thursday.
Police believe a Chevy Suburban carrying the victims struck another vehicle before rolling. OPP have since located the 'vehicle of interest', a truck, allegedly involved in the incident.
The collision happened between
Britannia and Derry Rds.
The injured passengers had to be lifted away from the scene by air ambulance.
The driver is fine, but the two male passengers are at
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and
St. Michael's Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver was taken to hospital for minor injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt. The two passengers that weren't buckled up were ejected.
The extent of the injuries frustrates OPP Constable Dave Woodford, who points out that a simple tool may have prevented the bloodshed.
"When you're looking at a single vehicle rollover and people get ejected, that's not acceptable in today's society. Seat belts are mandatory," he said.
No charges have been laid yet.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the only accident that brought out the air ambulance Thursday.
The chopper was out in Cambridge after a single car crash on Hwy 401 near Nassagaweya-Puslinch Town Line saw one man airlifted to hospital.
At about 9am, a Chevy Straight Truck was heading west in the shoulder lane when the truck went down the embankment and rolled onto its side.
The driver was able to get out of the car himself, but the passenger was not so lucky. He was trapped until emergency crews arrived.
After he was freed, he was taken to Hamilton General with life-threatening injuries.
