It is the first indication of changes following Sunday's major propane blast at Wilson and Keele.

The entity that's supposed to oversee places like Sunrise Propane on Murray Road has been ordered to inspect every similar major facility in the province.

The directive came from Consumer Minister Harinder Takhar, who met with members of the government-controlled Technical Standards and Safety Authority Thursday morning.

It means that every propane storage area that's similar in size to Sunrise will receive a thorough going over to ensure it's meeting all safety requirements. A plan is expected to be in place by next week with all the inspections completed by September.

The TSSA has come under fire since the explosion, after revelations the plant hadn't been inspected since receiving its licence back in October 2005.

But a spokesman for the entity insists they did nothing wrong, noting such reviews are only supposed to be done once every three years - and the time wasn't up yet.
