Black Bear Surprises Subway Sandwich Shop Worker

You know the saying "the customer's always right."

Well Subway restaurant employee Rebecca Branton certainly wasn't going to argue with her first customer of the day: a black bear.

The two-year-old bear managed to open the door to the Kitimat, B.C. sandwich shop shortly after Branton had opened up shop for the day recently.

The frightened worker made a run for the bathroom and locked herself in, as the bear wandered around the restaurant, at one point getting up on its hind legs and resting its front paws on the window, and eventually coming around behind the counter to sniff at the ingredients. It apparently didn't partake of the sandwich fixings, however.

Police arrived quickly, but by that point the bear had left the restaurant. According to one report it was put down by conservation officers a short time later.

Branton, though shaken up by the experience, was unharmed.
