The search for a missing Toronto girl has gone international.

Mariam Makhniashvili, 17, disappeared on September 14. She was last seen near Forest Hills Collegiate.

She had just moved to the city from the Republic of Georgia and didn’t speak much English.

Toronto Crime Stoppers has teamed up with International Crime Stoppers programs worldwide to look for her.

Security camera footage of the teen, a YouTube appeal, stills of Mariam on Facebook and a following on Twitter has been sent to the organization’s counterparts across five continents.

They’re also working to translate the public appeals into Georgian.

If you know anything about her disappearance, call police 416-808-5300. You can also contact Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
