Despite the tough economic times, our representatives spent more than $700,000 as the year came to a close. And 14 of them burned through more than half of their office budgets in the last three months.
Penny-pinching councillor Rob Ford - who didn't bill a single expense to the city in 2008 - says his colleagues start spending like drunken sailors towards the end of the year so future budgets won't be reduced.
