A shooting at an apartment complex at 135 Neptune Drive has claimed the life of a young man.

The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was pronounced dead at the scene near Bathurst and Wilson.

Police responded after receiving calls for shots fired at around 4pm.

“Witnesses called 911 and reported the sounds of gunshots. Officers located the body of a young male with obvious trauma, who was pronounced dead at the scene,” said Det. John Biggerstaff.

It’s believed the young victim likely lived in the building.

While police do believe there is likely more than one suspect, at this point that’s all the information available.

"I have no information in regards to suspects," said Cst. Wendy Drummond.

It's the city's 53rd murder of the year.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police at (416) 808-7400 or Crime Stoppers at (416) 222-TIPS (8477).
