Katelynn Sampson will always be remembered at the Parkdale school she attended.
An anonymous artist painted a mural of the murdered seven-year-old and
CityNews received an exclusive look at the painting on Tuesday at Parkdale Public School
Katelynn's biological parents said they were touched by the work, and the knowledge that it will be put on display outside the school.
"Anyone who passes by will always remember her," said her biological father, Mark Letang. "She was great. She was beautiful."
Students at the school also constructed a papier mache tree, which will be placed in the library in a reading area, called Katelynn's Corner in her honour.
The youngster's body was found in a
Queen and Lansdowne apartment last summer. The couple caring for her at the time has been charged in her murder.
Once the weather warms up enough, a memorial garden will be planted by the mural.
