Toronto’s homicide unit is investigating after a man died in a stabbing in the first hours of 2011.
Around 2:30am on Saturday, the victim got into a fight near Queen and Portland streets and was knifed in the chest and stomach.
Paramedics took him to St. Michael’s Hospital, but police later confirmed he had died.
Another man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.
Witnesses say the suspects fled right after the stabbing.
