Mount Sinai Hospital has reportedly closed its Level 2 nursery over fears relating to the H1N1 virus.
The unit was shut after the downtown hospital reportedly found out that a person ill with the virus had access to the nursery.
They've now opted to close off the area in order to protect the infants being cared for there.
"The reason we are being precautionary is because they are small babies and if you look in the risk group, children under five and under two are a group of people at risk of complications, so we have -- we are particularly careful about protecting them," noted infectious disease specialist Dr. Allison McGeer.
