Local convenience stores owners are always looking for an edge to boost business and they think Ontarians are mature enough to buy alcohol outside of the restrictive confines of LCBO locations.
The province announced earlier this week that it's looking into loosening some liquor laws, but the Ontario Convenience Stores Association says the changes are too narrow. They want customers to be able to pick up a six-pack or bottle wine at any of their stores.
Over the next month, the province is inviting input from businesses and the public about proposed changes to liquor laws. CityNews reporter Melanie Ng explores both sides of the debate.
