A strike by civic workers has now entered Day 16 - as long as the job action lasted in 2002.
Seven years ago, the province enacted back-to-work legislation because of health concerns by the City of Toronto.
This time, there's been no warning - and Premier Dalton McGuinty says he has no plans to interfere.
"My garbage hasn't been picked up for a while now," he said on Monday.
"The garage has started to stink a little bit but it's not the end of the world. Most folks have found a way to manage and they've found that it's important that we allow the process to unfold and that we remain patient and courteous as much as possible.
"I think overwhelmingly, Torontonians have demonstrated that good character and that good will."
Tell that to those near the Caledonia Road drop-off: Garbage is piling up around the city and not all of it is where it's supposed to be.
