Police charged two men this week for their alleged role in a shocking home invasion and murder in Markham that authorities claim was organized by the victims’ daughter.

Eric Carty, 31, was arrested at the Maplehurst detention centre Friday where he was being held on another charge, reportedly related to the 2009 shooting death of Kirk Matthews. Cops nabbed the second suspect, 22-year-old David Mylbaganam, in the Jane and Finch area Thursday.

Jennifer Pan, 24, was charged last November with first-degree murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Police allege she staged the home invasion in which her parents were shot -- her mother, fatally.

All three suspects are facing the same charges.

Because the investigation is on-going, police wouldn’t speak to the relationship between the three accused or to a possible motive. Investigators are still looking for more suspects and more arrests are expected in the near future, but police won’t say exactly how many.

Officers were called to a home on Helen Avenue, near Kennedy Road and Highway 407, around 10:30 p.m. Nov. 8, 2010.  When they arrived they found the body of 53-year-old Bieh-Ha Pan, who’d been shot several times.

Pan’s husband, 57-year-old Huei Hann Pan, was also inside the home suffering from serious gunshot wounds. He survived the attack.

Jennifer Pan told police she was tied up after three armed men burst into the home in what investigators initially believed was a random act. She said she managed to break free and call 911.

Two weeks later authorities arrested Jennifer Pan. She’s currently in custody and had court hearing scheduled for Friday.
