Toronto Police are investigating a murder in Rexdale after a man was shot dead on Bergamot Avenue on Saturday morning.

Emergency crews were called to an apartment building around 12 a.m. They found a man in his 20s in the lobby with obvious injuries to his torso.

He was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital where he later died.

The victim has not been identified. There’s no word yet on suspects, or what may have prompted the shooting.

The victim’s death marks the city’s 21st homicide of 2011.
