Landing Gear Collapses On JAZZ Jet Arriving At Pearson International

An Air Canada regional plane is the focus of a Transportation Safety Board investigation after its landing gear collapsed at Pearson International Airport on Sunday afternoon.

The JAZZ jet had just arrived from Moncton, New Brunswick and was being moved from an active runway to a taxiway when its main landing gear buckled. Luckily, the 37 passengers and three crew members aboard Flight AC8911 were not injured.

Airline spokeswoman Manon Stuart said this was the first time an incident like this occurred on a 50-seat CRJ-100 aircraft.  There's no indication yet as to what caused the incident.
