2 charged in Malton man’s death

Peel Regional Police have arrested two people for the alleged beating death of a Malton man.

Nitish Khanna, 19, was killed in the early-morning hours on June 20. Officers aren’t saying how he died, but witnesses say Khanna was ambushed and beaten with golf clubs.

Harsimran Singh Bal, 19, and Daljinder Sidhu, 24, have each been charged with second-degree murder.

Bal appeared in court Wednesday and Sidhu will appear in court on Friday.

Police are still looking for other suspects, and believe some of them may have fled Canada for India.
