Police are investigating after a body was found near a rural road in Uxbridge, about an hour northeast of Toronto.
Officers in the area on an unrelated matter made the disturbing discovery near Concession Road 8 between Wagg and Reid roads, around 9 p.m. Friday.
Investigators are still trying to identify the remains, believed to be those of a woman. A post-mortem exam was scheduled for Saturday.
"At this time, the identity of the deceased, gender and cause of death is under investigation," Insp. Mitch Colling said.
Police are currently treating this incident as a suspicious death and are asking anyone who was in the area this week or who may have information to call them.
