OPP investigators have identified a woman killed on the Niagara-bound QEW on Saturday.

Police say the victim has been identified as 32-year-old Amber Lynn Wilkinson of Hamilton.

Wilkinson was a passenger in a car, which pulled off on the Niagara-bound lane north of Burlington Street in Hamilton.

For some reason she exited the vehicle and was then run over, allegedly by the driver.

Billy Gladysz, 32, of Oakville, has been charged with second-degree murder in her death.

"We don't believe there was a relationship.  She was a passenger but where she had come from or how they knew each other, I don't know if they did or not," said OPP Sgt. Dave Woodford.

The investigation closed the highway for almost eight hours Saturday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Janet Scholes at 1-888-310-1122.
