Police have named a 19-year-old man shot to death in East York on Friday.

Officers found the victim – since identified as Bradley Matheson of Toronto – in a sixth-floor stairwell at 90 Eastdale Ave.

He had a single gun shot wound to the chest, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said an autopsy would be scheduled.

There's no word on suspects.

"It's not normal in this neighbourhood to happen, this type of violence,” one resident said. “Everyone knows each other. We're like a community here.”

Police are canvassing the complex and watching surveillance video.
