Police identify teen killed in East York
A 20-year-old man who was shot and killed overnight in a building near Jane and Finch has been identified.

Christopher Rookwood was found inside a townhouse on Tobermory Drive.

A number of people in the area called police around 2 a.m. Saturday to report hearing gunshots and seeing people and vehicles fleeing.

When officers arrived, it took them more than 20 minutes to find Rookwood. He had been hit in the chest, and paramedics pronounced him dead soon after.

Homicide detectives are investigating and have not yet made any arrests. They say an autopsy will be performed.

It's the second fatal shooting in the city in less than 12 hours.

Around 3:30 p.m. Friday, a victim was found dead in a highrise near Main Street and Danforth Avenue. Police say the male, believed to be in his teens, had a single gunshot wound to the chest.
