Toronto police have arrested four people in connection with a murder that occurred during last month’s Nuit Blanche festival.
Jefflin Beals, 25, of Dartmouth, N.S., was fatally shot in the early morning hours of Oct. 2 near Trinity-Bellwoods Park where a number of Nuit Blance contemporary art events were being held. Police found Beals lying unconscious between two houses on Crawford Street.
Darnell St. Clair Wright, 32, of Toronto was arrested without incident on Thursday and charged with first-degree murder.
Three other people were also arrested. Brittney Carvery, 21, of no fixed address; Sanderico Beals, 25, of Dartmouth; and Roslyn Bascom, 27, of Toronto, were each charged with accessory after fact to murder.
Calls to police weren’t immediately returned, and it’s unclear what Sanderico Beals’ relationship was to the victim.
The four appeared in court Friday.
