Poodles mixed with Pomeranians at the unveiling of a new dog park in North York on Sunday.
The pooches, their owners and the area’s councillor were on hand as the new off-leash area opened.
“It’s a vital community resource and I think it will be well used,” said York Centre Coun. James Pasternak.
“And at the same time it does respect those non-dog owners who want to use our parks and not have the concern of an off-leash dog in those areas.”
Pasternak said features like the dog park draw people into the area, making it safer and less prone to vandalism.
A second off-leash area will open later this fall at G Ross Lord Park, near Dufferin Street and Steeles Avenue West.
