Woman Escapes From Prison Packed In Large Suitcase

Call her the leader of the pack. Or at least the leader when it comes to packing. A 17-year-old German woman and her 19-year-old friend are both on the lam, after the former was released from jail and took all her belongings with her - along with something she didn't 'own'.

But there was no Michael Scofield-like plot attached to this prison break. Authorities in the northwest part of the country say the girl walked out of the youth facility carrying a large suitcase. What the guards didn't know was that it didn't contain her clothes or books. Instead, her pal was packed away inside, and she zipped up the zippers and calmly lugged the luggage out of the building.

Embarrassed officials are now on the hunt for the duo, who were both accused of theft. And they admit they'll be looking at future departing inmates a lot more closely from now on. "Our staff are going to make sure they inspect big suitcases more carefully in the future," agrees spokesman Dennis Weilmann.

The teen's amazing escape shows she'd better not have to wait in line to check herself in anywhere if she's still in the bag. Because patience isn't one of her virtues. The girl who got packed away had less than two weeks left to serve on her sentence.
