A Hamilton diner is serving up more than just barbecue: Owner Cameron Bailey is proud of the decidedly un-PC language at Hillbilly Haven.

“To better serve you, our staff speaks English,” reads one sign in the window. Inside, a Confederate flag hangs on the wall.

“’Do you have shwarma? Do you have halal? Do you have whatever?’ And it’s like, no, no. We have southern barbecue,” Bailey told CityNews.

“The intention is not to offend anybody; it’s just to say, you know what, stop asking me.”

Bailey says his menu is clearly displayed, but customers kept asking for things that weren’t on it. The signs are simply a reaction to the constant questioning, he said.

But some Hamilton residents were not impressed by the language.

“You shouldn’t be posting that kind of thing in a window,” one man said.

What do you think about the restaurant’s signs? Let us know in the comments.
