A taxi driver was injured after crashing into a ditch on the 400 just south of the 407 early Thursday morning.

The crash snarled morning traffic on the southbound 400 express. The OPP closed the lanes for about two hours for the investigation.

Police tell CityNews that the driver of the cab lost control of the vehicle, struck a concrete guardrail then careened across three lanes of traffic ending up in the ditch.

There were no other passengers in the car.

The driver was taken to Sunnybrook hospital and is expected to recover.
