A 29-year-old woman is dead after a crash in Simcoe County Sunday evening.

Around 7:20 p.m., the woman was driving westbound on Highway 88 toward Highway 400 when her car crossed the centre lane, collided with a pickup truck and landed in a ditch.

The woman, the only one in the car, died at the scene.

The man driving the pickup was not hurt.

South Simcoe police continue to investigate, but say they don't believe alcohol caused the crash.

They have not released the victim’s name as they are notifying next-of-kin.
