Rogers Communications Inc. has launched a new service that lets wireless users text and talk on their personal computers with their mobile number.

Wireless customers log on to rogersonenumber.ca, which lets them use their mobile number to manage everything — texts, video and calls — from their PC.

“We now have a seamless and easy-to-use solution for them with Rogers One Number," said John Boynton, Rogers’ executive vice-president and chief marketing officer. “By extending your Rogers wireless number to your computer, we're transforming and simplifying how Canadians connect with family and friends."

Features of the service include:

•   Texts, calls and emails can be organized into one unified inbox and contacts can be synched across customer's wireless phone and the Rogers One Number website.
•   Call and send texts Canada-wide from a computer anywhere in the world for no additional wireless charges.
•   Switch calls between your computer and your wireless phone.

Rogers Communications is the Toronto-based parent company of Citytv and CityNews.ca.
