Toronto police are warning the public in the city’s Yonge and Sheppard area about a man who has tried to enter at least two ground-floor apartments.

At 10:30 p.m. Monday, the man believed to be 20 to 30 slashed a window screen on the ground floor of an apartment and tried to enter. But he fled when an 11-year-old girl in the house screamed for help.

Then at midnight, the man tried the same thing at another ground-floor apartment, and also fled when a 16-year old girl in the house screamed.

The suspect has dark hair and was last seen wearing a dark trench coat.
