Police released a new security image Thursday of a young woman who’s a person of interest in the Anthony Spencer murder investigation.

Spencer, a 23-year-old father, was shot to death in a recording studio on Brimley Road near Lawrence around 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 21. Police have arrested two men and continue to search for a young woman who was allegedly with them the night of the murder.

The woman police are looking for is described as black with a light complexion, with black hair in a ponytail, about five feet tall and 100 pounds, with a slim build. Police are advising her to consult with a lawyer and contact homicide investigators.

“This individual is either present for an offence that she had no idea was going to take place and didn’t consent to it, or she’s a willing participant in it,” Det. Sgt. Gary Giroux said 10 days after the crime. “It’s difficult to say until we find out who she is.”

The woman was caught on camera entering and exiting the studio several times to make calls on her cellphone, including one call to a cab company in which a gunshot can be heard in the background.

A group of people that was at the studio when the shooting happened drove Spencer to Scarborough General Hospital and then took off.

Detectives have linked Spencer’s murder to three drive-by shootings in Malvern last month.
