Mourners gathered together in London, ON Saturday, to say goodbye to truck driver Christopher Fulton who was killed in a horrific crash earlier this week.
“He was a wonderful guy that's all I can say,” said Fulton’s aunt Kim.
Fulton, 38, was killed Monday when his truck crashed into a passenger van that had ran a stop sign on Line 47 and Perth Road. The van was carrying 13 migrant workers – 10 of whom were killed. The other three remain in hospital.
Fulton, a London native, was headed home to celebrate his 11th wedding anniversary with his wife Teresa.
“Chris loved Teresa -- that was his soul mate,” said Steve Labelle, Fulton’s co-worker at Speedy Transport.
The company has publicly stated Fulton tried to dodge the passenger van, which in the end resulted in his own death.
“He was a very contentious driver, I know that. And yeah, he would go out of his way to help everybody and anybody,” said co-worker Shane Burgman.
Friends and family say Fulton was an avid animal lover.
“He was a go getter, always doing something for his house and his dogs,” said Former co-worker Shane Burkman.
The family is asking that donations in Fulton’s honour be made to the Paws-United Dog Rescue, c/o Market Pet Shop, 26 Kilworth Park Drive, Komoka, Ont., N0L 1R0.
