The OPP are investigating a crash in Ajax that sent four people to hospital on Feb. 12, 2012. CITYNEWS.
Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after one person was killed and three others were injured in a crash in Ajax on Sunday.

One vehicle was eastbound on Bayly Street and another was westbound around 8 a.m., OPP Insp. Dave Saliba told CityNews.

“At this point, it appears that one of the drivers may have lost control due to the road and weather conditions. It’s possible that the eastbound vehicle went into the westbound lane and was struck by the westbound vehicle,” Saliba said.

There were two people in each car.

One of the victims was airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. That victim, a 20-year-old man, died Sunday afternoon, Durham Regional police said Monday. His name will not be released.

He was a passenger in the eastbound car. The driver of the car, a 22-year-old Pickering man, remained in hospital Monday.

The driver and the passenger in the westbound car have been released from hospital.
