It will soon be decision day, with Toronto's outside workers set to vote Monday on a tentative new contract deal.
The deal was reached after marathon negotiations between the city and Cupe Local 416, which represents more than 6,000 outdoors city workers.
Details of the new agreement haven't been released, but experts predict it will set a new standard for contract negotiations.
The more than 6,000 workers include everything from garbage collectors to paramedics.
The local union president has been recommending members vote in favour of the deal, although there have been rumblings that the city's paramedics are unhappy with the deal.
“We are very worried. There have been issues with paramedics and our labour representative for some time. This is when it comes to a head, when negotiations come about every three or four years. And we see that we are only 18 per cent of this local, and really, where do we sit in the local’s grand scheme of things?” said Geoff MacBridge, President of the Toronto Paramedic Association.
