Highway 407 ETR customer service reps began picketing Wednesday morning after talks between management and CAW Local 414 broke down Tuesday.

Dozens of workers gathered outside the headquarters on Steeles Avenue West, near Highway 427, in Woodbridge. Cars were backed up waiting to cross the picket line and get to the building.

Though the job action shouldn’t affect drivers on the toll highway, there may be delays for service centre calls.

The union told 680News its members are striking for more pay to compensate for a heavier workload.
