A house that was under construction collapsed in Mississauga on Wednesday morning.
The home, on Cawthra Road north of Bloor Street, had been used as a showroom for a window and door business for the last 30 years.
The owner was building an extension and workers were underpinning the structure when it collapsed. Luckily no one was inside at the time, and there were no reported injuries.
"I'm going to have to build from scratch," lamented the home's owner, Emilio Lavignasse.
Enbridge Gas was called in, but no gas leaks were discovered.
The Ministry of Labour is investigating.
"Our crews arrived quickly and secured the area and evacuated the adjacent units," said District Chief Paul Kernan. "Everyone is very lucky there's no injuries."
The home was fully insured.
