Toronto police have released the identity of the man charged in the alleged Boxing Day abduction and sexual assault of a four-year-old girl in North York.
Police say that around 3 a.m. on Boxing Day, the child was abducted from a home in the Bathurst Street and Wilson area and sexually assaulted.
A short time later, family members found the little girl and spotted a man fleeing the area.
The girl, who had been visiting from Connecticut, was treated in hospital.
“I heard a scream that night. In the middle of the night - it woke me up it was so loud. And then I realized it was the girl because the police came by to my house,’ said a neighbour, who asked not to be identified.
“We were unsure how to protect ourselves from a stranger.”
Ryan Belbin, 28, of Toronto, was arrested on February 18 and charged with:

“We want people to see the man’s photograph. If you’ve had any contact with him, if you have any information in regards to this 28-year-old man, contact police immediately,” said Toronto police Cst. Tony Vella.
