Target unveils first GTA locations
The American retail giant Target pulled off a big publicity stunt on King Street Thursday when it hosted a pop-up store with designer Jason Wu.

The temporary Target at 363 King St. W. at John opened at noon and shoppers got the chance to meet Wu, the Vancouver-born designer who created the white gown Michelle Obama wore to her husband, United States President Barack Obama’s inauguration.

Target says it will donate an amount equal to 100 per cent of sales at the event to United Way Toronto. Pieces from Wu’s Target collection will be selling for anywhere between $10 and $45. Purchases are being limited to three pieces per person.

The retailer plans to open between 125 and 135 stores in Canada starting in 2012—14 of them in the GTA, and all of them in Ontario
