Police are searching for two hit-and-run drivers after an SUV smashed into several parked cars in Parkdale and a separate crash downtown that prompted a closure on Lake Shore Boulevard Friday morning.

A black SUV, believed to be a Cadillac Escalade, hit a number of parked cars near King and Cowan streets around 4 a.m., and then it took off, according to police. The SUV was later spotted going the wrong way on O’Hara Avenue, near Queen Lansdowne, where it also smashed into vehicles.

Investigators are also trying to track down the driver of a car that smashed into a light standard at Lower Simcoe at Lake Shore Boulevard around 4 a.m. The car smashed into the pole and knocked down wires.

The accident prompted police to shut down a section of Lake Shore Boulevard in the area for about an hour and a half.

The driver fled the scene but police found the car around Lower Simcoe and Queen’s Quay. Police are still looking for the motorist.
