Police ask for tips after girl followed by van in Burlington

Police are asking for help in tracking down the people in a van that followed a 15-year-old girl in Burlington this week.

The teen told police the white van followed her while she was walking on Plains Road East, near Spring Gardens Road around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.  It then pulled into a driveway, blocking her path on the sidewalk. A man demanded she get in the vehicle from the passenger side window.

The girl screamed she was calling police on her cellphone and the van sped off.

Now investigators are appealing to the public for tips in tracking down the van and the people inside.

The girl provided a limited description of the passenger, who’s white with brown hair.

The van is white with tinted windows and a sticker on the left side of the rear window.

Anyone with information is asked to call Halton police at 905-825-4747 ext. 2315 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
