Andrea Martin attends the NBC Entertainment & Cinema Society with Volvo premiere of "Smash" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on January 26, 2012 in...
This city has something different to do every night. Here are some picks to help navigate the social jungle that is Toronto.

Comedy
Monday, March 5
Andrea Martin, part of the Unique Lives & Experiences series
Roy Thomson Hall, 60 Simcoe St.
Okay so it's not at a standup comedy club, but it is guaranteed to be funny.
Unique Lives & Experiences is bringing celebrities to Roy Thomson Hall for its 20th exciting season of entertainment. Andrea Martin has been on Breakfast Television a few times and each time that I've had the pleasure of interacting with her, she has been a delight. I'm sure this performance will be a fun evening.
Cost: $39.50-87.50

Film
Saturday, March 3
Faceoff
TIFF Bell LightBox, 350 King St. W.

Does anyone else find it funny that there is a Nicolas Cage Film Festival? TIFF Bell Lightbox Theatre has started a series called Late Night: Bangkok Dangerous: The Cinema of Nicolas Cage. So why not go see my favourite Cage film, Face/Off. Though both of these actors have some great (and some not so great) credits to their names, Face/Off is the type of movie I can watch time and time again from my action favourites.
Cost: $!2.50

Etc.
Saturday, March 3
Toronto Roller Derby
The Bunker, Downsview Park, 40 Carl Hall Rd, Studio 3

I can't tell you how I heard about this (It's sort of like that Fight Club thing, but I can tell you it exists and it's really energetic. The motto for Toronto Roller Derby is, "Real Women, Real Hits, Real Hearts” so you can imagine the enthusiastic crowd that fills the seats of the bleachers and I'm sure March 3 will be no exception. It’ll be a double header, opening up with CN Power vs. Roc City, followed by the Smoke City Betties vs. the Death Track Dolls.
They've even got a ”Derby Nerd” who showcases the various teams and highlights from past derbies as you can see here.

Cost: $18 for adults, $12 for youths (10-15) and free for kids 9 and under

Monday, March 5 at 7p.m.
Banksy and the History of High Art
Bloor/Gladstone public library
1101 Bloor St. W.

Just to be clear, I don't expect the real Banksy to show up to this event, but I do expect a wonderful discussion among fans and critical thinkers about the elusive artist. Is Banksy a person or a character? Is the work done by many people or one? Are there copycats? With Walrus magazine’s fiction editor Nick Mount attending, it’ll be a great conversation.
Cost: free if you register
