Canada's main political leaders were in town Friday and with the war of words heating up between the province and the feds, you'd think we were in the thick of a federal election campaign.
Liberal Leader Stephane Dion said he'll still prop up the Conservative minority to avoid a snap election. But it doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon.
There are four by-elections slated across the country on March 17th. The Liberals are expected to win at least two of them and the Conservatives are also on the campaign trail.
Taking a jab at Ontario's Liberal premier, Prime Minister Stephen Harper praised the provinces that cut corporate taxes and left out Ontario.
"I'm pleased to see Manitoba get on with eliminating its capital tax, I'm pleased to see Prince Edward Island looking at harmonizing its sales tax with the GST, and I'm very pleased to see British Columbia moving clearly toward the goals we set for corporate taxation in that provinces most recent budget," he said.
Polls suggest the two parties have been tied in popular support for months.
