For any seven-year-old girl cutting your hair is a big deal. When you have as much hair as Patricia Vrysellas, it's a very big deal.
And yet that's what the youngster did Sunday, chopping two feet of her brown locks to donate towards a wig for a child battling cancer. It was an idea she incorporated into her birthday party, one her brother arrived at after seeing a similar story on
CityNews.
"I saw it on the news one day and I thought since we were gonna cut her hair we should just cut it for cancer," Spiro Vrysellas explained.
But Patricia did something even harder for any seven-year-old to do on her birthday: give up presents. Yet she did that too, opting to ask for money she could donate along with the hair.
"We've raised $4500 for children with cancer," young spokesman Spiro added. "Her goal was $500 and we passed that by a lot."
And now that the day is done, Patricia has a message for whoever gets her hair.
"I hope you guys feel better," the sweet donor stated simply.
Patricia's uncle helped her start a
Facebook group dedicated to the cause, which

She's also got her own donations page with the
