Police are trying to piece together the events that led to an apparent shooting near a busy downtown intersection early Saturday.

A 15-year-old boy turned up at a downtown hospital with a bullet wound to the leg after a plate glass window was shattered at the Sam the Record Man store on Yonge, just north of Dundas.

Authorities can't confirm the two incidents are related.

The boy's injuries are said to be non life-threatening.

A mother and daughter escaped a horrific crash Saturday, on Lake Shore near the Boulevard Club.

The driver wrapped a car around a pole just before 12pm near Jamieson. Despite being trapped in the wreckage, both are going to recover. Police say slippery conditions played a role in the crash.
