Three guns are off the streets after Durham police seized the firearms in three separate incidents on the same day.
On Tuesday cops discovered the first firearm when construction workers in Pickering unearthed a Glock 22. 40-calibre handgun, parts of a second firearm, two magazines, and some ammunition while they were clearing a lot.
Then officers in an unmarked cruiser spotted a speeding car travelling on the westbound 401 near Scarborough. Police stopped the vehicle in Toronto on
Antrim Crescent. The passenger allegedly tried to take off, hopping several fences to escape.
Police said the man dropped a .457 Magnum as he tried to flee, but cops eventually caught up with him and he was arrested.
And a third weapon was seized during a traffic stop at
Finch Avenue and Liverpool Road in Pickering that was part of an investigation conducted by Durham's Gang Enforcement Unit.
Detectives searched the vehicle and allegedly found an unloaded .38-calibre handgun. Two 17-year-old boys were arrested.
