It wasn't a huge haul of weapons - in fact it was just one gun - but Toronto Police are breathing a sigh of relief at getting it off the streets anyway.

It's a frightening looking Tech 9 that authorities say was fully loaded, and came with 100 rounds of ammunition. Cops say there were 35 bullets in the gun itself - including one in the chamber, in the words of one officer, 'ready to go.'

It's not yet known where it came from or if it was altered to be fully automatic, but there's little doubt it had the potential to be a very deadly weapon. 

The gun was seized from a home at 2190 Lawrence Ave. E. not far from Birchmount. A man and a woman were arrested at the scene.

The couple has three children all under the age of four. They've now been turned over to relatives while their parents move through the legal system.

It's not known if anyone had any plans to use the weapon.
