The North York Community Council is exacting some revenge on a developer after the Ontario Municipal Board gave the go-ahead to a townhouse complex in the north end of the city that they, along with numerous residents in the area, were opposed to. 

Councillors in the area have decided to name the street OMB Folly.

Part of the criteria for naming streets is that it should be historically significant and shouldn't be derogatory.  City Councillor John Filion explains why he believes they made the right choice.

"I thought it was the most significantly historic thing that had ever happened at that location. I think it's our responsibility to draw attention to the great travesty that's happening in this province with the Ontario Municipal Board."

"People need to understand what a horrendously bad planning decision this was."

Residents seem to back the proposed name, and some, like Ernesto Laurili, think Councillors should take things even further.

"It's not enough, I have other names for it," he said.  "But it's better I don't say it in front of a lady."

"Why should developers do anything they feel like doing right?" asked Harvey Okawara.
