We’re all creatures of habit in the morning.
The same routine, the same meal, the same first step outside the house.
But in the case of one Barrie woman, her monotonous morning took a frightening turn when she left her front door – and tumbled into a trench.
Her home was undergoing foundation repairs but in the hustle to get to work – the 48-year-old mans the deli counter at Zehr’s – she simply forgot.
She was stuck in the ditch on
Melrose Avenue for about an hour waiting for rescue crews.
When they arrived, she was quickly loaded onto a stretcher and taken to hospital.
She sustained a serious leg injury in the fall, but is expected to recover.
And likely, change her routine.
