The mother of two-month-old London Ontario boy who died of suspected H1N1 is urging parents of new-born babies to get vaccinated.
Ethan Bailey Desbrais may be the youngest victim of the virus in Canada. He was reportedly healthy before dying suddenly on Monday.
While public health officials haven't confirmed the cause of death, his parents say the coroner told them it was H1N1.
"If we knew that we (needed) the vaccine we would have got it right away," his mother, Carla Desabrais said. "I want to suggest to any parents with infants under 6 months of age...to go get the shot."
Desabrais says she had just finished breast-feeding Ethan early Monday when his lips turned blue. He died not long after being rushed to hospital.
Ethan was too young to receive the vaccination.
Both his parents were suffering from mild flu symptoms previous to the boy's death.
