Police have arrested a Toronto man for the murder of a retired dentist last week.
On Wednesday afternoon, authorities were called to a basement apartment on
Bedford Road, where they found the body of 67-year-old Gerald Robert Brown with obvious signs of trauma. An autopsy later revealed he had died from a neck wound.
Brown reportedly lived in the unit with a younger man. The space had been ransacked, but there were no signs of forced entry.
On Friday, detectives arrested 33-year-old James Chalaturnyk and charged him with second degree murder.
He is due to appear in court on Monday morning.
