Victim Identified In Fatal Restaurant Stabbing

Man Stabbed To Death In Restaurant Kitchen
The victim of a fatal restaurant stabbing in the Annex has been identified.

Ming Yang, 27, was killed late in the evening on Saturday November 7.

Police were called to New Generation at 493 Bloor St. West just after 11pm.

Officers believe that Yang and his attacker, both Chinese nationals, worked as waiters at the popular sushi spot.

The pair allegedly became involved in an argument, which then escalated. The accused stabbed Yang.

Yang was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death was a stab wound to the chest.

Xu Wang, 25, of China, was arrested at the time of the incident and has been charged with Second Degree Murder.

The Chinese Consulate has been notified.
