A man is dead and Peel Police are looking for three men following a murder in Brampton early Thursday.
The trio, last seen in the victim's black Nissan sedan, is considered armed and dangerous.
Authorities were called to a home on Earth Star Trail, in the Bovaird Drive East and Dixie Road area, around 1am Thursday. There, they found 38-year-old George Kalogerakis suffering from obvious trauma.
The man was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. This is Peel Region's 18th homicide of the year.
"This was a home invasion robbery that went very, very, wrong," Insp. Norm English said.
The murder has left residents shaken.
"You've now got to second guess everything," outlined neighbour Dave Bontoft.
"You're going to lock the doors a little better, you're going to stay up a little later, you're going to walk the kids to school, you're going to watch everything," he continued.
"In this neighbourhood, that's unheard of."
Police found Kalogerakis' Nissan in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue area. Forensic investigators are now going over the car.
The suspects are described as:
- Suspect #1 is described as a black male, tall and thin, and in his 20s. He was last seen wearing a bandana and a hood with a long, grey winter coat. This suspect was carrying what appeared to be a rifle.
- Suspect #2 is described as a short, black male, 16-17 years old, with short hair and a round face. He was last seen wearing a grey hood. This suspect was carrying a knife.
- Suspect #3 is only described as a black male.
