'Faces Of Hope' Calendar Provides Dates With Destiny

Celine Dion is a pretty busy entertainer and she has a lot of things on her calendar. Despite that, she wants one more on item it - you.

The Quebec singer has recorded a slew of hits over the past few years but her biggest may be the one caught on camera.

It's the 2009 edition of the "Faces of Hope" calendar, a special project in which the Grammy winner meets and poses with 12 survivors of tragedy or disease who have lived to tell the tales of their triumphs over adversity.

And for a change, it's not the diva Dion who's the centre of attention in this date book. It's the kids from nine countries who have managed to survive the worst fate could throw at them and come out with some inspiring stories to tell - with a Toronto twist.

Proceeds from the calendar go to benefit one of the very things that helped those kids stay in the fight - the Herbie Fund. It was named after a young Brooklyn boy named Herbie Quinones, who was brought to Toronto in 1978 for a lifesaving operation at the Hospital for Sick Children.

Since then, hundreds of children around the world have been helped through its free live saving operations. ( See its inspiring origins here.)

You can purchase the "Faces of Hope" calendar online by clicking here. And like Celine Dion, it's yours for a song. It costs just $20.95.

But what it can buy is beyond price.
